Messing around while Deyona was messing with lighting, but i love it xD
My Skyward Sword Zelda is finished :'D (well, basically, anyway. Minus sleeve trim). I am very happy with this costume and I'm glad to have at least one that is comfortable and easy to wear.

So other than being a huge fan of the Zelda series I chose this costume because I felt it was very bright and festive, and I wanted to wear it to our local Aki Matsuri Japanese festival.

I've always had a hard time making dresses so I took a lot of time designing the patterns for this. I used basic cotton for almost all the costume (dress, sailcloth, and blue side thing; my brown belt was spandex). The dress pulls over so there was no need to add zippers or buttons (thank god). I used double fold biased tape for all of the yellow trim patterns, by first setting it with heat n' bond then stitching over it to give stability.
The blue cloth that hangs off the belt is actually a bag so I am able to carry my phone, and other necessities without needing a backpack. The crest symbols were hand painted onto this bag and sailcloth with several coats of watered down acrylic paint.
My gold belt is made from resin gems which are screwed into sealed and hardened eva foam based and attached with pieces of chain.

My wig is an Le Tigre in pale blonde from arda wigs. I added an entire pack of wefts to give the front dreads and back ponytail volume (it's all wig hair, no padding!). I love everything about this wig >3<
